Last Sunday Zach and I went to see Wicked (the musical) in Hollywood. It has been showing in LA for a long time now, but I had not seen it yet. I brought up the idea of going for my birthday, and luckily Zach got an e-mail about a special deal on tickets. So we sat in great seats for a discounted price!

The show was great! The woman who played Elphaba (the Wicked Witch), had an amazing voice!! The person playing Glinda was the understudy, but she too had a beautiful voice. I had heard good things from people around here who had seen the show, and I agree, it was great! It was funny, entertaining, and had a good message as well. If you haven't seen it, try and find out if it will be in at city near you.
After the show we took a few pictures and looked at the booths selling clothing and memorabilia. I looked and looked trying to decide if I wanted to get a shirt or not. I ended up getting a cute shirt based one of the best songs in the show, "Deifying Gravity." Looking back, I am not sure why I got it (it was really over priced $39), but I guess I just revered to being a little girl who wanted a cool shirt from the show she had just seen. Zach was sweet enough to agree to me getting the shirt. It is a cute shirt, so I will just have to wear it enough to justify the money we spent on it. (It's says "Defy Gravity" if you can't tell). I got this picture from www.wickedthemusical.com where there is an online store you can order other shirts and goodies if you want.
Here is a performance of "Defying Gravity" I found on YouTube from the David Letterman Show. It isn't the same actress we saw, but you can at least hear the song and see how it is performed.

That sounds like a lot of fun! I wonder if they are playing in DFW??? We went all the way to NYC and didn't see any musicals, but should have!!!
I looked at the tour list and they are playing in San Antonio. That's the closest one.
