A couple of weekends ago we went to Dallas Cowboys Training Camp in Oxnard, CA. This is about 45min.- 1 hour away. Our friend Rochelle joined us and she invited Michelle, who just moved here. I must note, all four of us are from Texas. There are actually at lot of Texans working at Pepperdine.
We got up bright and early to make the drive. We arrived in the morning and looked around at the set-up. It was like a mini carnival with two 18-wheelers that opened up into selling booths, places selling food, and another 18-wheeler that was a traveling memorabilia truck including the team's super-bowl trophies.

If you look under the letter "W", you will see Rochelle and I. The lower level held all the memorabilia.
There was even a huge inflatable arch that you entered through with the Dallas Cowboys logo on it. This is only one of the sides of the arch. I'm telling you, this arch was big!
We watched two practices, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Here are some pictures from the morning practice:
The big boys pushing the really heavy sled.
The big boys stretching.
Tony Romo throwing the ball.
There was a lot of waiting in between the two practices, which included heat and a sunburn, but overall it was a neat experience. Afterwards we found a Wal-Mart that sold Cowboys stuff. Zach got a Cowboys' workout shirt, and I got two cute shirts for work that had nothing to do with the Cowboys.
Then we spotted a Chick-fil-a to eat at and a Dairy Queen to get dessert at (both which are almost unheard of in CA). We were really excited to get those treats.
To end the night we stopped by this really nice outlet mall. I want to go back when I have more time to scope out the stores and find some good deals. I ended up getting a cute, blue shirt and Zach two pairs of boxer-briefs from the Banana Republic Outlet store. I hope he doesn't care I included that detail. :) TMI? http://www.bananarepublic.com/
I guess that serves as our Texas fix until Christmas rolls around. Bye Y'all!
